Germany vs Thailand

I have lived in both countries and hate the cold of Germany and hate the hot of Thailand. What I do know is, that I met or made more table tennis friends in Thailand in the last couple of days. I played Thomas the tall German guy in the video below yesterday. Our matches are very close. I did manage to win every one of them by a few points. His backhand pendulum caused me lots of trouble in the first few points and still worried me for all the games but I managed to scare him back eventually by realising they were predominantly heavy topspin and should never do anything with them except go all out over the table topspin loop the hell out of them.

Noom the Thai guy continues to take more games off me. He is actually a Thai policeman if that counts for anything, it at least makes be careful not to say anything to upset him.

I met a Belgium player who I must admit I enjoyed playing the most just today at Edwards condo (the English fellow)

What makes me enjoy playing him? well he loops and attacks the way I do and can basically have a game more similar to what you might see the top players play. Not to say we are that good it's just that we serve spinny serves short, we open anything loose and loop really hard and don't stop counter looping with lots of speed. I think the ball just comes to me in a way I am more a custom to, and enjoy the resulting match.

I am not saying for second I am that good but we do have a lot more spectacular rallies I felt. I must get our rallies on video next time.

In the video below, I think you get a good idea of the German and Thai players style. Know editing of shots necessary as my memory space ran out and they strung the points together quickly. Hope you enjoy the video.
