Changing to new equipment tips
Do not change to new equipment on the day of an important match.
My experience told me not to, but I hadn't put on new rubber for a long time and was presented with 5 equipment stalls that I just could not say no to. The results were as I expected. Even though I had used tenergy 05 for a very long time in the past, I needed to get used to its much higher throw angle and also let the rubber settle. Straight after glueing it was a bit mushy. I also played with tenergy 25 fx for the first time so was taking a huge gamble on getting used to what it would do.
There was no real warm up table dedicated to individual players so I could only warm up a little in limited space and could not swing into the rubber as missing often meant making my partner chase the ball 50 metres down the hall.
The results in my first match at the Pattaya super cup 2011 were 3:0 loss.
I didn't attack enough as I didn't feel confident or comfortable with where the ball would go.
