The Koreans came in big numbers, but Jun Mizutani stole Korea’s Joo Se Hyuk title, so to speak, as Joo was the top seed in the Men’s Singles event at GAC GROUP 201
The ITTF Table Tennis Qatar open world tour was played from the 7th Feb 2012 - 11 Feb 2012 in Doha, QAT and didn't have all the big names. Ma Long, Timo Boll and Zhang Jike withdrew. These players made the important decision to prepare for the first big challenge of the year, the World Team Championship. Ma Long and Zhang Jike are in Shenzhen, China in a training camp that will last forty days. Timo Boll also decided to have a good preparation for the World Team Championship because they have the responsibility of successing at home soil this time.
Laola1.tv have given us the Europe Top 12 2012 with a catch. In my opinion it is the worst angle ever to watch table tennis videos. Why is the angle so high over the top of the table nobody knows. As the tournament continued there was more money spent on coverage of this table tennis event. And it was, with TTcountenance bringing us the best video on youtube again. In short, Ovcharov won the Europe Top 12 for 2012. And even though he played well his constant cho even when he did a basic push was over the top and ugly for the game of table tennis we wish to promote.
There are 16 youtube table tennis videos included below of the Velenje Slovenian Open of 2012 from 25th-29th that you can watch closely in regards to the Mens Singles. Of course it was obvious that it would be an all Chinese Final and Semi final. But did we think Zhang Jike would beat Ma Long in the final by only 4 points in the 7th game? Not much suprise really as they always are close, a few points this way or that way makes very little difference to who is a better player at the end of the day.
The Hungarian open in 2012 was very exciting primarily because it looked like Ma Long might actually lose a match finally. Joo se Hyuk had the better of him in the final sets only to lose to Ma Long by a small margin. Joo se Hyuk showed that he is ready for table tennis at the olympics more than most have. It is always great to see that chopping has a chance still.
Included in this table tennis playlist is the pongcast from the new pongcast website which is pretty dam cool.
I have started a new HD table tennis project where I bring a collection of the best high definition videos on youtube together to watch in one playlist. I introduce my favorite videos that are new for the last month and share some of my ideas on them. I am trying to promote both table tennis and the youtube uploaders that bring us High Quality table tennis footage on youtube. If you find any great HD youtube videos please leave me a comment with a link so I can include it. If you upload HD table tennis related videos let me know too.
In this table tennis video playlist, I'm paying tribute to the best table tennis uploader on youtube with 200 of the TTcountenance most viewed table tennis videos.
In December 2011 the table tennis world rankings is summarised in this table tennis video and playlist. So how did the big boys move? 1 MA Long, 2 (3) ZHANG Jike, 3 (2) WANG Hao, 4 BOLL Timo, 5 (8) XU Xin, 6 WANG Liqin, 7 (5) MA Lin 8, (7) MIZUTANI Jun, 9 (10) JOO Se Hyuk, 10 (12) OVTCHAROV Dimitrij
I think Ma Long or Zhang Jike will win gold comfortably in the London Olympics in 2012. You could almost bet $40000 on it.
Ma Long has not lost a game in about 40 matches. Jike has won a 1 out of 7 matches against Long.
Watching this match is like watching the best player in the world playing himself. I see very little difference in the style.
I have not seen such a high level match in such length and high definition as the one in this youtube playlist. Timo Boll and Zhang Jike are two of my favorite players to watch so am very excited to have this footage of the world championship 2011 semi final here.
So you were looking for a table tennis robot to improve your game? Well this is not really that kind of equipment but it does make the mind wonder what will happen in the future.
A table tennis robot can not reach the speed of the human eye or have the movement ability or complexity of a human but these robots are a step in the direction of basement player for now. Who knows? they may even get even more complex with their shots one day.

In this Table Tennis video playlist of the Swedish Open 2011 held in Stockholm in August, you can see:
The worlds two currently best table tennis players meets in the mens singles final in Swedish Open Championships in Stockholm. Ma Long currently ranked nr 1 and Wang Hao nr 2 (by ITTF) at the time. The European table tennis championships 2011 or ETTU have been Live Streaming table tennis TV and lots of people have uploaded to youtube and I have compiled 3 hours of matches so far, in the playlist below you can see:
The Men's singles final table tennis video uploaded by ttCountenance on 25 Sep 2011 of the Austrian Open - ITTF Pro Tour, September 2011, rose quite a few comments. If you have a video with 15 minutes of highlights, you know you had a good match. Ma Long is at his best and zhang jike is really improving his forehand! I think they are the best ever. Regardless, it was an absurdly epic match of pure speed and technique. Even in slow motion they are pretty fast.
Just spotted this best serve ever. I think it is one of the best points ever because of how great the serve is and then the return of serve and then they are not the pros but Juniors. I am happy to see table tennis kicking it in 2011 and will continue support as much of it as I can - so please help me out here guys and join up and comment!
JO Jan-Ove Waldner is the master of the drop shot off any lob or shot from the distance. As an older player this is so important as it doesn't take much energy.
Will write more about this great HD video in time, just wanted to file it so I don't lose it for now. Jan-Ove Waldner Bordtennis SM 2011 Eriksdalshallen Stockholm Bordtennis
There is really nothing funny or unusual about it, but it is worth remembering that a forehand is only as good as your footwork. What do I mean? Well you may know how to do the full shot in practise but getting the ball to line up in your power zone is another thing.
What I enjoyed about watching these table tennis women play in HD is the bouncy nature of her footwork. There is a huge contrast as I don't need to name names. Being athletic and fit allows one to be less in contact with the ground and more ready to shift ever so slightly or a lot if needed.
Even though you may not like the Chinese team, you almost have to watch the table tennis world championship 2011 final men when it is in hd brought to us by our good friend ttcountenance a few months ago.
A key topic brought up was not just the play but thoughts about personality and emotion; self control of celebrating a win.
I just love playing table tennis tournament style games for free and then posting them online to see what all the hater and lovers of the game will say.
Making something quite ordinary public is fun for me. It is like pretending to own a ferrari, it's like buying and using tenergy when you are not a professional table tennis player. It is like who gives a?
Have started playing more regularly at the English guy's room recently and thought I should keep track of progress and maybe even give a place for the boys to reply. Hopefully there will be no hard feelings for making such things public.
The room is air conditioned which is great and costs me 80 baht return on a motorbike taxi all up.
Do not change to new equipment on the day of an important match.
My experience told me not to, but I hadn't put on new rubber for a long time and was presented with 5 equipment stalls that I just could not say no to. The results were as I expected. Even though I had used tenergy 05 for a very long time in the past, I needed to get used to its much higher throw angle and also let the rubber settle. Straight after glueing it was a bit mushy. I also played with tenergy 25 fx for the first time so was taking a huge gamble on getting used to what it would do.
I was contacted by msTTsport a guy's youtube channel name recently as he will be coming to play table tennis in Pattaya later this year. He is the guy in the green shirt at 8 minutes into the video. I went to check out his videos and there are some really great lengthy videos of high level play you don't see on other channels as they focus on the big names.
I have lived in both countries and hate the cold of Germany and hate the hot of Thailand. What I do know is, that I met or made more table tennis friends in Thailand in the last couple of days. I played Thomas the tall German guy in the video below yesterday. Our matches are very close. I did manage to win every one of them by a few points.
As you all know I am trying to become popular on Youtube and often study the art form, yes that is what I call it, video is like a canvas, and youtube is like a gallery. I want to know who I am communicating with when I speak. My users at the moment are 82% men and 40% between 35-55 years old. I understand this as this is who I am and I guess similar people to me watch similar things as I am interested in. They are mostly from the United States, The United Kingdom, Germany, Australia, India, Thailand, Vietnam, and Papa New Guinea.
Apart from listening to Timo Boll saying what he thinks about his games after playing there is not that much you can find out from a professional about a match. However, I just came across an awesome commentary by William Henzell of a Timo Boll vs Ma Lin match. He took a lot of effort in making this video. He is doing a world of good for Table Tennis promoting his table tennis Edge website called TTedge.
Just got back from my third round of table tennis "training" for the up coming Pattaya Super Cup tournament. Got to play Yot, Ed and a new guy; I think his name is Noom. Noom caused me trouble as he had some pretty spinny serves that I was looping off the end of the table and he could block my loops and could also loop a bit himself. Tonight, however, I felt I was my own worse enemy, missing decisive shots I should have won games with against Noom in particular. He took a few games off me and I think I took a couple of him.
